This is a significant step. In a move that can prove very interesting in long term, latest Firefox browser comes with iTunes Application Detector plugin.

We can assume it will do wonderful things. Interacting with iTunes, on-click song purchase from firefox.

What else they might do?

Update: Thanks Asa for correction. This plugin is not part of Firefox install. This was updated by mysterious Apple Updater. Windows version of Apple Updater is a study in itself.

  1. Actually, Firefox doesn’t come with that plugin. iTunes installed that plugin and you didn’t notice before because earlier versions of Firefox didn’t display all your plugins as nicely as it does now.

I think it actually is part of the installation of Firefox, because I got that shit, even though I’m running under GNU/Linux, for which, as you certainly know, there is no version of iTunes.
But we have lots a better music player, and we can buy (or not) our music elsewhere on the web, so who cares :·D.
